KOINTAINS

Kointain - The finest non-PVC holder for the dedicated numismatist! Kointain is a two-piece capsule, which was invented by Dr. Francis Stevens Epps in the late 1940's.  Employing the services of a research chemist, he designed a new type of coin holder that used a safe and impervious plastics.  Kointains are convex so as to touch the coin only on its edges.  Held at arm's length, a coin in a Kointain holder does not appear to be in a holder at all!  Customers report that coins housed in Kointains have retained their pristine appearance even after decades of storage.  It's no wonder that the Smithsonian Institution used Kointains for the National Numismatic Collection.  After its formation, the American Numismatic Association's Money Museum chose Kointains for much of its displayed collection.  Kointains are produced and packaged under strict conditions to prevent contamination by dust, oil and grease.

* These Kointain sizes use a standard size Kointain with an inert polyethylene insert ring to reduce the inside diameter to fit non-standard size coins.
